John Larroquette - Me, Myself & I Cast Member

Born and raised in New Orleans, John Larroquette was an only child who had studied music for 11 years by the time he was 17 years old. He loved to write, considered entering the priesthood, had a talent for mimicry and ultimately won a drama scholarship.

However, nothing intrigued him as much as the idea of traveling, so he joined the Naval Reserve. With his naval duties completed, he continued to travel, always returning to New Orleans, where he worked as a FM disc jockey.

After Larroquette first indulged his interest in acting at a small Colorado theater, he ultimately moved to Los Angeles to give acting his full attention. Within a few months, he was cast in the Colony Company’s production of “The Crucible” and “Enter Laughing.” Since then, he has appeared in “Happy Jack,” where he played a working-class husband in a two-character drama opposite his wife, actress Elizabeth Larroquette. Written by John Godber, directed by Ron Link and produced by Catalina and Portfilm Productions, “Happy Jack” received several Dramalogue nominations.

Larroquette made his musical stage debut in the Los Angeles production of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas!” and his Broadway debut in the 2011 revival of “How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying” as J. B. Biggley alongside Daniel Radcliffe, for which he won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical and the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical for his performance. Also, he appeared on Broadway in a revival of Gore Vidal’s “The Best Man,” which included an all-star cast with James Earl Jones, Angela Lansbury, Candice Bergen, Mark Blum, Eric McCormack and Jefferson Mays.

He is perhaps best known for his role in “Night Court,” for which he is a four-time Emmy Award winner for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. Also, he starred in “The John Larroquette Show,” in which he played the night manager of a St. Louis bus station who is trying to change his life for the better. In its second season, Larroquette was nominated for an Emmy for his role. Currently, he stars in “The Librarians” which is in production on its fourth season.

His additional television credits include his guest starring roles in “The Practice,” for which he received an Emmy Award for Best Guest Star on a Drama Series, “Boston Legal,” “Almost Human,” “Sober Companion,” “White Collar,” “Chuck” and “House.”

Also, Larroquette executive produced and starred in the television movie “One Special Victory” and “Tenth Kingdom,” a 10-hour mini-series opposite Dianne Wiest and Camryn Manheim, on the Network.

His film credits include “Richie Rich” opposite Macauley Culkin, “Blind Date,” opposite Bruce Willis and Kim Basinger, “Madhouse,” opposite Kirstie Alley, “Summer Rental,” “Star Trek III: The Search for Spock,” “Stripes,” “Altered States” and “Twilight Zone: The Movie.”

Currently, Larroquette resides in Los Angeles with his wife, Elizabeth, and their three children. His birthday is Nov. 25. Follow him on Twitter @johnlarroquette.
